Fitment Help

Is SlamFix right for your equipment?

SlamFix is a 1/2" BSPP (G1/2) Inline Hydraulic Flow Restrictor designed for compatible 1/2" BSPP (G1/2) parallel hydraulic thread connections.

It installs inline between the hydraulic hose end and the hydraulic quick coupler that plugs into the tractor. Fitment depends on the threaded connection at that hose-to-coupler point.

Start with the threaded connection, not the coupler body.

Many imported tractor implements use BSPP hydraulic fittings, but not every hydraulic connection is BSPP. Before ordering, verify the thread type on the hose end, quick coupler, adapter, or fitting where the restrictor will be installed.

The size of your hydraulic quick coupler does not automatically tell you the thread type behind it. A quick coupler may have BSPP, NPT, JIC, ORB, metric, or another threaded connection depending on the hose and fitting setup.

Where It Installs

Between the hose end and quick coupler.

The typical installation point is between the implement’s hydraulic hose and the quick coupler that connects to the tractor.

Step 4Quick coupler to tractor

The important connection to verify is the threaded connection between the hydraulic hose end and the quick coupler.

This product fits

  • Compatible 1/2" BSPP hydraulic hose-to-coupler connections
  • G1/2 parallel thread hydraulic connections
  • Female-to-male BSPP inline installations
  • Hydraulic lines where a .030" fixed flow restriction is appropriate

This product does not fit

  • 1/2" NPT tapered pipe thread
  • JIC flare fittings
  • SAE ORB / O-ring boss fittings
  • Metric hydraulic threads
  • Quick coupler body size alone

BSPP vs NPT

BSPP is a parallel thread. NPT is a tapered thread. They are not the same and should not be forced together.

BSPP fittings typically seal with a bonded washer, sealing face, or similar sealing surface. NPT fittings seal by thread taper. If you try to install the wrong thread type, the fitting may leak, damage the threads, or fail to seal properly.

When It Helps

Useful when hydraulic movement is too fast.

SlamFix is commonly used when hydraulic movement on a tractor implement is too quick, abrupt, or difficult to feather. It reduces flow through the line so movement becomes slower and easier to control.

Photos that help confirm fitment

If you are not sure what fitting you have, clear photos can help identify whether your hose-to-coupler connection is likely compatible. Fitment cannot be guaranteed from photos alone, but photos may help identify whether your connection is likely compatible.

Still need help?

If you reviewed the information above and still are not sure whether your hose-to-coupler connection is 1/2" BSPP (G1/2), you can submit a fitment review request.

Clear photos of the hose end, quick coupler, threads, and sealing surface are required.

Fitment Review Request

Use this only after reviewing the Fitment Help information. Clear photos of the hose end, quick coupler, threads, and sealing surface are required.
